As one of Alaska's foremost hunting and fishing guides, Rocky McElveen has lived through some of the most harrowing experiences his profession has to offer: plane crashes, life-threatening blizzards, grizzly bear attacks...
And that's just the tip of the iceberg.
Brushes with death and extreme adventure have developed an intimate love within Rocky for the pristine Alaskan landscape and the Creator responsible for it all.
Rocky's stories form Alaska cross over from the small audience of outdoorsmen to men and women of all ages as he shares from an Alaskan guide's perspective.
Rocky has guided presidents, pro athletes, and powerful executives on adrenaline-laced voyages through the most remote land left in the world. They're all searching for one thing -- ADVENTURE. That elusive intangible that lets all men know that they are, indeed, alive.
Rocky McElveen with his wife, Sharon, are owners of Alaskan-Adventures (www.alaskan-adventures.com). Rocky, the son of an Alaskan missionary and a seminary graduate, was raised in Alaska and knows Alaska's charm and challenges better than anyone. For over twenty years he has been a professional guide in that state. His knowledge of the primitive frontier along with his warm, hospitable manner adds an unprecedented dimension to his credentials as a master fishing and registered hunting guide. He is esteemed as friend by many who have been under his guide: President George Bush, Sr.; Franklin Graham, of Samaritan's Purse; General Charles E. "Chuck" Yeager; Major League Baseball player Dave Dravecky; Bob Seiple, President of World Vision; Paster Chuck Swindoll; and Oakland A's pitcher Mike Moore, to name only a few.
